Welcome.

Welcome!

The blog you are reading is intended to be a logbook of my progress in my project of making a 3D mapping with a 2D laser with Lab View. This project is for the subject of Virtual Instrumentation. The idea is to make many frames of the surroundings with a 2D laser with a tilt movement controlled by a servomotor. All the frames will be attached together to make a single frame of a 3D map.

A very important factor in this project is to make the mathematical corrections in order to have a 3D map that corresponds to the real surroundings.

Once the software gets a correct 3D map the intention is to take a picture of the analyzed zone and to place each pixel on the corresponding place of the 3D map so it can create an 3D image of what is in front of the laser on full color.

I hope this blog will be helpful to anyone that wants to construct their own 3D Laser.
